Fantastic food in a recognisable French style, rather than the pseudo fusion and Italian influenced mainstream.

I read about this place through Yelp. It's on a quiet street. It's almost a dark street at night. It's near Fontaine de la Rotonde. We ordered two main dishes and a dessert. The Red Mullet (fish) w Mashed Tomatoes and Rice was excellent. The Chinese Noodles w Shrimps and Veggies was very good. It could have been less salty. But I ate it all. The Tiramisu was served in an ice cream sundae glass. It was also good. I just felt that it didn't have enough 'cake' or 'lady fingers' in it. Hard to tell which one it had. This is the second restaurant I've been to here in Aix-en-Provence. This is the best one so far.
Love this delightful little restaurant! It is one of the only places in Aix where I can have pate de canard and it is terrific. The melon/Parma started can be shared and is delicious. Then there is the Daub that is better than a beef stew, simmered for hours with red wine. Fabulous!!! Try it with mashed potatoes. The service is superior. Over all, a wonderful dining experience.
Wonderful from the moment you enter until the moment you leave. Delicious bread, prawns, monk fish and pomme tatin. Atmosphere and service was warm and inviting.
A must dine in Aix. Classic Provence. Not touristy yet also accessible to those of us visiting. The atmosphere is chic and charming. The staff including yorkie Remus are gracious and helpful. Foie gras, lamb shank, and beef stew were all exceptional. Excellent menu. Excellent wine list. Best place I dined during my time in Aix.
Life changing meal. The service was incredibly friendly. The foie gras, lamb leg confit and duck were all outstanding. Quintessential Provence. We loved this restaurant and hopefully will return!

The greatest little place! It was totally out of season, but I ordered the lamb shank and was so so sooo happy with my choice. Incredible food and great service. They are by a couple nearby hotels, so their customers typically are foreigners, but it didn't feel touristy. Great food!
I returned to this lovely place after a year and my friend and I had a wonderful dinner. Even better than the first time... the owner smiled and remembered me after an entire year, as did one of the waiters ("This isn't your first time here, right?"). While my beloved Tempier is now €60 (and worth every Euro penny), the ambience hadn't changed a bit. There's still a cute little dog that roams around the patio, attracting everyone's affections. The tapenade amuse-bouche and olive oily crostini were great. I had a filet mignon of veal (thick and very tender) with a terrific morel mushroom sauce that I couldn't get enough of. A green tea crème brûlée fell a little short (a bit heavy on its feet and too thick) but by that time I couldn't be brought down from the high of this charming place with the tasty food.
Great restaurant, glad I finally located it. The food was amazing I had the prawns and my husband the lamb shank. Very friendly staff and place is very cozy,the desserts are to die for. A must in Axi.
Wonderfully prepared menu. We ordered off the menu - Grasses gambas Poelees en Persuade - be still my heart! Best meal in Aix-en-provence. Recommend for a romantic dinner or any special evening out with the ones you love.

After a day of 'nosing' around Grasse while on vacation with my mom, the two of us settled in Aix for the evening. By the time we parked the car and got situated in our hotel (the lovely Hotel Cezanne), dinner was on my mind. With so many choices, she sought out the guidance of her travel bible and made reservations at a decently rated establishment tucked away in an alley adjacent to the Cours Mirabeau. One quick call from the maitre d'hotel and we were set to dine for 8PM. Unfortunately, upon arrival my hungry eyes were not enticed by the menu I sat down to. Luckily, I had caught glimpse of Le Patio on our way and remembered noting its name while doing my own perusing of restaurants on TripAdvisor. I double checked to ensure it was indeed the gem I had read of and happily sought a table. So far it's been the best decision I've made yet on this trip. The restaurant is a true gem - the wine, the people, the atmosphere, but mostly the gambons...GET THE GAMBONS. They are the biggest, most succulent shrimp I think I've ever tasted (and I've had my fair share). So if you're looking for delicious French cuisine, and at price that won't dig into your shopping spending, look no further than Le Patio.
Such a wonderful restaurant. I found it on Yelp and boy it was even better than any review on it. A traditional French restaurant with extremely good service, unlike some others in the area. The food is melt in your mouth. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Try it and see for yourself!!!
Worth looking for! Close to the tourist area, on a tiny side street. Food & service outstanding. Nice atmosphere, quiet, so pleasant. Very friendly and attentive staff. Prawns and daube: outstanding. We were there two nights, couldn't be more pleased. One night with a small child, they were delightful, charming and accommodating. Be sure to ask if they have the Mas la Chevaliere 2011, from Rousillon.
This was a fantastic little restaurant. Hands down my favorite meal during a recent trip to Barcelona and Provence. The bread and tapenade starter was delicious. I had an amazing linguine with squid - it was seasoned perfect and all of the ingredients of the sauce and pasta came together perfect for an exquisite meal. My friend's lamb was also perfectly cooked. We shared both the panna cotta dessert and the apple tart with ice cream. My mouth is still watering thinking of them. And it wasn't just the food that was fantastic. We loved the ambience of the restaurant and the owner and our waiter were both so friendly and sweet. A wonderful experience. I would go back in a heartbeat if I'm ever in Aix-en-Provence again.
Une jolie adresse dans une rue peu passante du centre d'Aix. le décor est très sympa et original (cour couverte) ; service attentionné. La cuisine est bonne, même si pas très raffinée. Le rapport qualité prix pourrait être amélioré

Endroit sympa derrière les voies principales. Un décor sympa et « so kich » à souhait où on se sent bien pour déjeuner.
On y mange bien et l’accueil est sympa. On a apprécié la souris d’agneau et ses petits légumes, et le tiramisu. Le chef passionné a ce petit accent italien qui vous rassure sur ses compétences.
Une déco et une ambiance très agréable dans la cour fermée au fond du restaurant. Un choix restreint mais qualitatif. Nous avions réservé avec une smartbox et avons pu choisir ce que nous voulions à la carte. Nous avons passé une très bonne soirée 😁
Les plats sont très bons, on sent la qualité et la fraîcheur des produits. Manque un peu de générosité c’est dommage.
Une recommandation de l'office de tourisme. L'endroit est vraiment sympa. Nous avons très bien mangé hormis pour la viande qui était vraiment trop cuite, voire immangeable (une erreur du cuisinier suite à notre demande de partager le plat). Après avoir fait une remarque sur l'addition, où il n'y avait pas de geste commercial, un rabais de 8 euros a été consenti sur le plat de 35 euros. Je recommande quand même car tout le reste était délicieux.

Je suis cliente depuis 10 ans au Patio et je reste un peu sans voix face à certaines critiques ou bien les mots employés, ici ou sur d'autres sites.
Je ne doute pas de l'expérience moins bonne pour certains mais lorsque l'on voit les restaurants d'Aix-en-Provence, BEAUCOUP sont d'une grande déception avec des prix non justifiés pratiquant du réchauffé ou QUE du surgélé fade.
Le Patio conserve une cuisine qui respecte les traditions, une histoire, avec des plats que l'on ne retrouve nul part ailleurs tel que les rognons de veau.
Nous retrouvons cette conservation des traditions du métier également lors des services, avec une équipe qui donne chaque jour son maximum afin de satisfaire les clients dans un cadre hors du temps ramenant, pour certains, à l'enfance.
Alors quand il y a le visuel, l'attention et le goût pour moi c'est largement réussi. Je n'ai jamais été déçue et la Maîtresse des lieux Sophie Nollet nous acceuille toujours avec le sourire et grand soin (attention rarissime voir inexistante dans d'autres restaurants)
Rappelons aussi que la cuisine et les goûts sont assez subjectifs et personnel donc arrêtons d'écrire et essayons!
Le restaurant est magnifique, le service parfait et la cuisine succulente !
Petite carte, nous avons pris la salade de magret en entrée, pâtes fraîches aux palourdes et pâtes fraîches aux légumes, un pur délice !

Lieu joliment décoré, plats subtils de l entrée au dessert, prix raisonnables et service impeccable. Envie de revenir pour goûter à d autres saveurs.
On adore ce petit côté cosy et le personnel qui sait être très amical. Un bon endroit convivial où l on peut bien manger. Il est conseillé de réserver et si possible profitez de la terrasse même couverte.
Superbe expérience passé avec ma compagne, endroit trés chaleureux avec un service de qualité.
