Sit by the window and get a nice view of the square. There are more expensive touristy places around. I scoped this one out
We had a fantastic meal and a great time with our group of 8. Most of us had the 3 course meal for 20 Euros. Everyone enjoyed the food. The escargot were really good and so was the beef bourginon . The owner did not speak English but was super friendly. It was our favorite meal in France.

Great for a light lunch in Beaune-ville.
We arrived hungry and wet from the downpour. Yelp is not prominent in Beaune (or most of France), so we Trip Advisor-ed the area for a bite.
Every bistro was practically empty. The few patrons sitting outside under the cover was enough social proof that Les Chevaliers would be decent.
The matronly hostess was very happy to see us. She smiled brightly and had a slight skip in her step as she led us downstairs and gave us French menus.
I had Quiche with escargots and a salad. Delicious buttery crust on the quiche and plentiful chunks of escargot. The salad was simple and had a light vinaigrette.
My hubby ordered a Andouillette sausage that came with roasted potatoes.

Andouillette is a French sausage made from pig's intestines. Pig's colon will taste springy and have no odor if cleaned. Some people prize the andouillette for the fecal smell and taste.
Yes, This sausage had a mild-homeless/NYC subway smell with each slice. Thankfully, it was not too strong so I didn't gag. The taste was springy and tasted like veal, pork and tripe meat. I could only eat a couple slices.
Thankfully, my hubby didn't mind the smell and finished the plate.

Food is hit or miss. I recommend the salad with scallops (saint-jacques). It's one of the best salads I've had in Europe because there were actual veggies with the lettuce. My friends beef was undercooked though.
Great location and open for more hours. We had lunch there and were jealous of all the food we saw, we considered coming back for dinner. The staff was good and helpful. But skip the cold foie gras salad. Way over priced. Chocolate mousse was great.

Hearty plates for lunch and dinner. Somewhat casual bistro - brasserie ambience rather than formal restaurant.
Lots of tables on open square. Indoor seating is very limited. Always busy with diners, so table Reservations for dinner are recommended.
We ate both fish, meat and pastas here. All very good, quality and finesse are not as breath taking as at La Grilladine, but still the food here is very competent cooking that satisfies. Even food snobs will be happy here.
Dinner 3 course formule around 24 Euros is plenty of food. Wine list is decent as you'd expect here in Beaune.
My wife and I did hours of research on the majority of our restaurants for our trip to France, but we did not make any plans for our first lunch in Beaune. We stumbled upon Les Chevaliers as we were walking through town on our first day there and decided, mostly because there were tables available in the sun on a gorgeous day, to eat there. We went to several of the highly reputed places in Beaune, but this was our best meal of the trip. The food was authentic, the portions were large, and the prices were very reasonable. Don't miss this place.

Une terrasse bien située, des plats variés et corrects. J'ai été un peu déçu par l'assaisonnement du tartare de boeuf. Mais les frites étaient très bonnes et les spaghettis à la carbonara également.
Nous avons passé un agréable moment.
Les œufs meurette et le nougat glacé furent particulièrement appréciés.
Le service fut très rapide et agréable en cette fin de service.
La terrasse est fort appréciable.
Ils prennent les chèques vacances !
Je ne comprends pas les mauvaises critiques ! Nous avions réserver par téléphone : bon accueil et sur place aussi 👍tout était bien : accueil, plats , prix , attente. Même la playlist ! 😜le seul petit bémol qui n’est pas grave en soit : trop de poivre dans la soupe à l’oignon et du coup j’avais la bouche en feu !!!! Mais je l’ai signalé et là encore personne sympathique et cela a était pris avec bonne humeur.
Très bon restaurant avec des portions généreuses. Belle découverte avec en entrée des oeufs meurette (oeuf mollet, sauce à base de Mâcon/vin de Bourgogne, lardons et oignons) et très bonne sauce à l'époisse accompagnant une belle pièce de boeuf. Le tout servi par des serveurs très gentils 😊
Petit plus, il est possible de payer avec les cheques vacances ancv mais attention le restaurant n'est pas équipé de lecteur pour les chèques vacances e-connect.
