We had the most excellent meal at L'Orangerie that we experienced during our 2 weeks in France. The ambience is perfect, quiet and comfortably elegant. The service was impeccable from the moment Karina greeted us at the door until we sadly had to say goodbye after dinner. The food is a combination of plate artistry and gourmet excellence. The food Gras with quince jelly and green apple was the best I had while in the country. My husband langostinos with eel over beet was so palate pleasing. Our brother in law had frogs legs that he described as the best he had ever tasted, and sister had scallops that too were among the top ever experienced. For dinner we had venison chop, the sea bass, and sweetbreads for entrees. Each ranked top in their class for presentation, and preparation. There were courses in between that also wowed us. Pumpkin cream soup was amazing. Then of course the cheese cart was the most extensive selection we had seen. Our desserts, even though we thought we couldn't eat more, we're not to be denied their way into our mouths. The soufflés were a 10+ if you're on a 10 point scale, and the blonde brownie dessert in chocolate cup was a huge hit st the table. I will be back when we visit France again.
