LOVELY place.
I go there each trip to Nice, and they take care of me well. So far i have been there about a dozen times.
One of the best foie gras in Nice for sure. Pricy too (at 21 euro for a small serving). More than that portion would bring you a heart attack anyways.
Pretty French cuisine.
Pricey but good quality, i like the owner, the chef and the server. We joke and laugh so real enjoyable.

I visited Le Meclun on a Monday night and was so happy to find an open restaurant. Most places are closed around here on Mondays which is unfortunate. Although I was the first diner for the night, the restaurant was quickly crowded within an hour.
The food and service were both outstanding, you can tell that the owner, who is also the server, takes tremendous pride in detailing the fresh ingredients and delectable dishes.
I chose the Prixe Fixe menu for $50 and enjoyed and appetizer, entrée, and dessert all with service and VAT included. A great deal!
Starting with the fresh crab was a great choice, it was a lighter version of a crab cake as it was more of a tartar. The dish was fresh and seasonal with the decorative flowers having a briny oyster flavor that was unexpected. For my entrée, I chose the steamed fish which was served atop a creamy and wonderful saffron cream sauce with asparagus and beans. Unfortunately, only the saffron sauce had much flavor, but it was still good. For dessert I chose what I thought would be a chocolate biscuit that ended up being a perfect molten lava chocolate cake with a fresh orange sorbet that was bright enough to lighten the deep rich dark chocolate ooze. At the end, as per is normal, it took a really long time to get the check.
Decided to try this out during my vacation in Nice,the food was delicious, although my pigeon entree was in my opinion raw, but tasty :), my husband had the sea bass, totally yummy. They were very nice and accommodating,cos my kids had odd demands, they catered to us extremely well , the wine selection was superb,all In all ,was a lovely dinner .
My wife and I went with the seven course prix fix menu. It was quite pricey, however after reading the reviews, we had to go for it. It was worth every penny. Every course was better than the next. The wine selection is extensive and the staff is extremely knowledgable to help you pick a perfect pairing. We ate outside on the street which was quite noisy, however being able to watch Chef Goux work while watching through the large window in the kitchen was fun to watch. We will most likely eat indoors next time. This was our favorite meal of the week and there were some high levels competitors from "Old Town" in the mix.

Don't even question it. Run to this restaurant. Everything about it was excellent. Don't be dissuaded by the construction on the street--it had no effect on the incredible dining experience this restaurant offers. We came on the recommendation of our host at our Airbnb, which was not too far from Le Mesclun. As soon as we were seated the host/owner(?) greeted us, welcomed us and joked with us. We were given plenty of time to order. We were given complementary bowls of the most incandescent mushroom soup. Our dear friends shared a salad that one of them said was the best salad she ever had. We shared a paté with foie gras and rabbit. I ordered a dish of grilled scallops and filet de Saint-Pierre on mushroom risotto. They were the best scallops I've ever had--perfectly cooked and bursting with seafoody goodness. The risotto was perfect. My husband had duck which was beautifully done to his specifications. Our friends got the lobster, which was for 2 people. We are from the Northeast US and spend a couple of weeks together every summer in Provincetown on Cape Cod. We know lobster. This was a European blue lobster and they both said it was the best lobster they've ever had. One said it was perhaps the best meal she's ever had. Throughout the meal the host chatted with us, told us about the history of Nice and had us laughing with him about life. The server was also delightful, pleasant and attentive to all our needs. We thanked the chef as we left and he was as nice and gracious as the host. We are in Nice for 5 days and we are definitely coming back to Le Mesclun before we leave. Don't miss it.
It is a very typical French restaurant and excellent service. The cuisine is amazing, we like the food very much, we will recommend this to our friends and wish to come here next time!
This was, hand's down, the very BEST restaurant I dined at in Nice. It's not near the downtown--it's up near the Vallon Barla bus stop on rue Californie. The food was exquisite & we started with seared foie gras that melted in my mouth. I had a special-rouget, which is kinda like bass, but not really. The other dinner was duck, perfectly done and tender and slightly rare. The manager/owner/head guy recommended a local red and I have no memory of the name-but it was perfect. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful and welcoming an experience this was! The chef, who is very handsome -by the way, probably does not speak English, but I gushed all over him afterwards and I hope he understood that I offered to bear his children in exchange for a few recipes.

Nouveau séjour sur la Côte d'Azur et nous n'avons pas manqué de rendre visite au chef Ludovic Goux. Il nous a régalé du début à la fin. Une cuisine vraie, rien de chimique et une assiette élégante. Un personnel au petit soin. Un ceviche de loup de Méditerranée délicieux, le filet de turbot, noisettes du Piémont et agrumes de pays, cocos … une vrai explosion de saveurs. Comme dit le Guide Michelin "l'ambiance est chaleureuse et l'addition ne s'envole pas". BRAVO.
Petit restaurant très charmant, repas gastronomique. Le chef est talentueux et le serveur très aimable et professionnel. Nous avons très bien mangé, les prix sont raisonnable pour le type de cuisine, et la quantité servie. Ne vous fiez pas au quartier, ce restaurant vaut largement la peine de s'éloigner un peu du centre ville, en plus il y a des places juste devant et un parking en face.
Excellent restaurant découvert grâce aux recommandations du guide Michelin.
Cuisine raffinée et bien servi parfaitement réalisée par le chef Goux.
Service très agréable et professionnel.

Institution dans le quartier de Carras, le Mesclun est peut-être l'un des derniers bastions de la cuisine populaire de qualité sur Nice ouest. Le chef nous propose un menu signature, vrai, honnête et gourmand qui se présente comme une cuisine authentique de chez nous, parfois avec du caractère, mais aussi avec de l'amour. Si vous êtes à la recherche d'un restaurant avec une âme, vous êtes au bon endroit.

Je recommande définitivement ce restaurant, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.
Très bon resto, petit plat avec un gros plaisir. Il faut commencer de l'entrée jusqu'à désert! Par contre il faut compter pour le plat chaud 40 euros plus entrée et désert et du vin si vous buvez. Je recommande si vous avez le moyen d'allé !!!

Restaurant exceptionnel comme un étoilé Michelin. Si vous cherchez la qualité d’un restaurant étoilé dans un cadre convivial et avec un très bon rapport qualité prix, n’hésitez pas.
Je recommande le menu gastronomique, surtout le steak Angus accompagné de pommes de terre écrasées et leur sauce aux girolles. Le service est irréprochable, les serveurs sont très aimables et souriants.
Nous avons été très bien conseillés pour un accord mets & vins. Très bonne carte des vins.
Je recommande vivement pour un moment en famille, pour un couple ou bien pour un cercle d’amis qui aiment se faire plaisir avec de bons plats et du bon vin!
