Dinner. It was magical - winky face. I liked this place so much I came back the night after. It's rare that I'm happy with everything that's served during the evening. This was one of those times. They have varying menus starting from 22 euros upwards. I loved their use of Asian flavours in the dishes. If you order any main dish, you will also receive an amuse bouche and their exceptionally tasty vegetable soup. I've never had a better vegetable soup! Finely diced veggies, lemon grass & ginger flavours and a deeply flavourful tasty broth. The two mains that I ordered a la carte were fantastic. A surf & turf scallop "fondue" - three plump, perfectly cooked, sweet & tender scallops with a seared foie and seasonal mushrooms. Also had a roast lamb dish on the second night, with garlic & thyme. The special thing here was that they cross-hatch grilled the skin so that it added a crispy element to the dish. Medium-rare perfection. The three flavours of duck appetizer was beautifully presented - slices of smoked duck breast, seared foie, and caramelized gizzards (similar to five spice) - not chewy at all. For dessert, the molten chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream was a winner.

We were wandering around the enchanting medieval old town of Sarlat la Caneda looking for dinner. This place is one of the places that were recommended by our B&B, but its price is also significantly higher. The other places nearby offer set dinners for €10-20, but this place goes from €27-49. Under the dreamy charm of the little town, we decide we can splurge a bit and enjoy some fine French dining. The first server, on realizing that we speak very little French, passed us on to another server who turns out be from South America! He did his best to explain the menu. It features highly the regional favorites of duck and truffle, but also has a new spin, such as cooking duck in earl grey tea leaves and serving scallop with enoki mushrooms. It's well worth the splurge, we enjoyed our food so much, especially the scallop and duck.

Exactly amazing. This restaurant is a few euros more than its surrounding spots but what a great spot. The servers speak English and also will humour you if you would like to practice your francais. The kids meals were so well received by the kids in our party. Our starters were works of art. The Fois Gras was great, we had Tempura with shrimp and sausage. The silence that falls over your table when the food arrives tells the tale. The wine selection is thorough and very representative of the region. The mains were awesome also. I had the saddle of lamb but every entree was ordered around the table, they were all complex flavours and textures, the temps were perfect, the meats juicy and fresh, the vegetables cooked perfectly and the sauces... just wow. Dessert was the chocalat fondant. Please visit this place. The dessert was amazing.
