Fascinating shop that was on my “must see” list for my Paris visit. I had purchased some items from the shop and sat them down on a table while waiting for my friend. I forgot them! But the staff found the bag and had it for me when I returned! Thank you so much!!!!!
Was there just this afternoon. Browsed around the shop (which is a veritable cave of wonders), then sipped a latte at the coffee shop while looking at even more books. Ended up buying some really nice second hand copies of a number of books I've been meaning to read for some time, as well as two novels which I had never heard about, but seem interesting. Prices are very worth it and the books are almost as good as new. The staff at the coffee shop was also so very nice and friendly! Thanks so much for a nice couple of hours.
P.S I just loved the library rooms with couches upstairs! Wish I lived in Paris so that I could visit every day!
I can't tell you how much I love this shop. The variety, the cosy nooks and crannies, the stairs, the history (Hemingway and Ford), and the fact that people still flock here. I bought a lucky dip that I won't be opening until I get home - it's my little surprise to me - and the cafe next door makes an amazing hot chocolate. Oh, and I was so tickled to find a local Geelong boy behind the counter - (sadly, I didn't ask his name - hello you lovely man) he was a wonderfully welcoming face in a foreign land. This shop could be the sole reason I return to Paris.
