Translates to 'My Duck', which is wholly appropriate, because where else can you get a full duck meal filled with delicious and socially irresponsible things like foie gras for about 1/5 the price it'd be in the States?
Normally I don't eat foie gras, but since I found myself in the Duck Region of France, I decided I'd put it on hold for an hour. I'm glad I did, but I probably wouldn't do it again. It just confirmed for me that yes, foie gras is delicious, but not measurably more delicious than a variety of good old pates. What I really loved was our plate of unpasteurized Camembert with figs. I guess pasteurization really changes the flavor of cheese, because I'd never tasted anything like it.
The set meal also came with a duck confit, which was also very well-done, particularly when you got a bite with a lot of fat in it. It also came with bottomless fries, which were perfectly spiced, but the bottomless part was wholly unnecessary as we were full to bursting by the time that course arrived.
Delicious duck with great table rose and yummy warm goat cheese salad. My husband had a very savory chicken kebab and we split sort of a yogurt with fruit desert. All was great!
Could have used one more person for service but this is a holiday. I really rely liked my duck! I would have added a about a tablespoon more orange sauce but it was delicious regardless and the potatoes obviously cooked in duck fat were delectable! Bon choice!
