I made my way towards the café (Coutume Cafe // 47 rue de Babylone, Paris), and recognized it immediately. As one of the only places open on the street and one of the only restaurants serving brunch, there was a line of the door. Since I was alone, I was easily seated at the counter without a wait. The menu was amazing (I should have taken a photo). Very hipster, Seattle-San Francisco vibe; organic roasted vegetables and grains, delicate omelette served with frisée salad, housemade granola, yogurt and poached cinnamon pears. A three course brunch which was pricey, but looked absolutely divine and well worth it! Their coffee selection was also impressive and I knew right away I had found the perfect spot. I ordered a café noir and the granola-yogurt-fruit experience for something lighter (and less expensive). It was absolutely perfect; not too sweet nor filling. One of those meals where it was just enough. The coffee was also the best I have had on this trip. Water was creatively served in a beaker, which was kind of fun. I'd definitely go back!
Great coffee. I had the tartine d'automne and it was fantastic. The service was very friendly and quick. Definitely recommend! They also had a high chair for my 8 month old so I'd give it extra stars if I could. We will definitely go back.
We are visiting from Australia and found this little gem through online recommendations - so thankful that we did! The service was fantastic, genuinely friendly & patient staff which was appreciated with our poor French The food and coffee was excellent - I had the bircher & a cortado, my husband had the pancakes and a flat white. Highly recommend x
