We dined at Qui Plume La Lune during our recent trip to Paris and found this to be a genuinely good dining experience. While a bit pricey, we very much enjoyed the mystery menu concept, the intimate venue of the restaurant and the friendly and attentive service. We booked for dinner online using TheFork. com and luckily, was able to secure seating on the same day.
When dining at Qui Plume la Lune, guests don't make dinner menu choices. Instead, one simply selects how many courses to try. Staff only ask about your allergies and don't reveal the dishes until they are served. Not to worry, the chef in the back is quite a craftsman and artisan with his ingredients and food stock, creating French and Japanese fused dishes that are bound to delight. In the spirit of this dining concept we offer nothing more than recognition that all dishes tried were quite tasty. We went for the 4 course meal and had no trouble finishing each course along with the amuse bouche and petit fours.
Since we did not know what we will be served, we took the recommendation of the host for wine, which turned out to be a good bottle that paired quite well with the majority of the dishes served.
In the end, we found Qui Plume La Lune offered a creative and interesting dining opportunity, and a good choice for those with curious taste buds or those looking for a gastronomic adventure. We liked the surprise menu and would be eager to try the restaurant again on future visits to the Marais district.
Note that the restaurant is only open from Wednesday to Saturday so it is well worth making advance reservations to secure a table.
